It seem like every famous person has a memoir these days and while most of them are worth the read, the best are those that can simultaneously captivate, move and leave readers with new perspectives.

There are many moving and honest autobiographies, and this list names a few of the best.

Becoming by Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama's autobiography, "Becoming," details her time as First Lady of the United States. It was one of the most successful autobiographies ever published, and an immediate New York Times bestseller.

In her book, Obama details her life starting from childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her time at Harvard Law School and Princeton. She tells about her life after meeting Barack Obama and how she has become the person she is today.

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

Over a million copies of South African comedian Trevor Noah's remarkable New York Times bestseller have been sold. Born a Crime tells the narrative of a naughty youngster who, despite growing up under apartheid South Africa, manages to become a restless young man who fights to find his place in a world where he was never meant to be. This is yet another memoir that I think you'll remember for a long time.

The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish

The actress most recognised for her role in Girls Trip has penned several very personal pieces.

But this is more than just a compilation; it's written with such candor, hilarity, and enthusiasm that it might be your go-to guide to finding success and fulfillment in the things that bring you the most joy.
