Amazon Prime Brings Lore Olympus to Life in New Series

Amazon Prime Video has commissioned an animated series based on the popular "Lore Olympus" webcomic, as figured by Variety. The series will adapt the original webcomic which was created by Rachel Smythe. The writer, showrunner, and executive producer helm will be helmed by Julia Cooperman, known for her work on "Colony," "Willow," and "The Winchesters". Webtoon Productions and The Jim Henson Company, along with Amazon MGM Studios, will be the production houses for the project.
Cooperman expressed her enthusiasm in adapting the popular webcomic, citing her love for Greek mythology. She is excited to present this refreshing modern-day reimagining of the tale of Persephone and Hades which will cater to both new viewers and long-standing fans.
Additionally, the series will be executive produced by David Madden and Sydney Bright from Webtoon Productions and Aron Levitz. Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford will undertake production responsibilities for The Jim Henson Company while Henson’s Delaney Shiokari will control the production execution.

The anticipation for a series adaptation has been mounting since 2019, given that the webcomic has garnered over 1.8 billion global views since its launch in 2017. It will join Amazon's existing roster of successful adult animated series adaptations.
