According to a Harper’s Bazaar cover story, Anne Hathaway made sure that the sequel of "The Devil Wears Prada" did not exhibit models that were extremely skinny. Meryl Streep, who reprised her Oscar-nominated role of Miranda Priestly, revealed Hathaway’s stance. Different from the first "The Devil Wears Prada" movie, where fashion brands were reluctant to display their clothes in a film considered as an unknown entity, the sequel was filmed with the backing of multiple high-end fashion brands.

While participating in Milan Fashion Week shows, Streep was alarmed by the thinness of the models. The condition prompted Hathaway to contact the movie's producers and ensure that the models for their film wouldn't be excessively thin. The filming of the sequel was reportedly hectic due to the large number of fans and paparazzi at the New York City set daily.
