Dance Momentum: Netflix's Star-studded 'Best of the Best'

Netflix collates an august assembly of stars for its upcoming movie, 'Best of the Best,' directed by Lena Khan, orbiting around intense Bollywood dance competitions. Starring names include Chaneil Kular, Ankur Rathee, Shreya Navile, Becky Alex, Nihar Duvvuri, Nico Greetham, Amryn Khurana, Tanishq Joshi, Lilly Singh, Sasha Bhasin, Janina Gavankar and Saara Chaudry. Also featuring previously declared stars like Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Priyanka Kedia, and Hasan Minhaj.

The cinema narrative traces the journey of two inseparable childhood friends, Maya, and Anjali. Joining their university's competitive Bollywood dance crew, they soon realize that the path to securing the national title is much more fierce and demanding than they anticipated.

The screenplay for 'Best of the Best' is credited to Minhaj and Prashanth Venkataramanujam, who also take on production responsibilities for 186K films along with Jonathan Eirich for Rideback. Executive producers include Ryan Halprin for Rideback and Ellen Schwartz.

The story, set in a common campus scenario, provides an insight into dance teams as platforms for South Asian community development and cultural bonding. It brings together diversely located teams to exhibit their skills and compete to be the 'Best of the Best.' The tale aims to valorize the lively world of Bollywood Fusion Dance, the hardships of early adulthood, and the enduring strength of friendship.
