Glen Powell, with performances in “Hit Man,” “Anyone but You” and “Twisters” under his belt, takes on the starring role in Edgar Wright's reimagination of “The Running Man”. The movie is an adaptation of the 1982 book by Stephen King, which was later made into a 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The story unfolds in a dystopian realm where a deadly game show called 'The Running Man' broadcasts 'runners' evading killers, known as 'hunters'.

The cinematic synopsis reveals the Runners must undergo a 30-day survival trial, being pursued by professional hitmen. Each day, the cash prize increases, and every step is broadcasted to a riveted public. Glen Powell plays the role of Ben Richards, a worker desperate to cure his sickly child. He is coerced by Dan Killian, the game show’s ruthless producer played by Josh Brolin, to participate as a last hope. However, Ben's courage, natural instincts, and resilience make him a sudden crowd favorite, becoming a challenge to the entire system. As the ratings soar, so do the risks. It falls to Ben to outsmart not just the Hunters, but a society obsessed with seeing him fail.
