Golden Globes Sets Sights on Brazil with New Celebration in Rio
- Oct 22, 2025
The Brazilian film and television industry will take center stage at a new Golden Globes celebration in Rio de Janeiro this March. The initiative, the brainchild of a collaboration between the Golden Globes and Urland Ventures, aims to celebrate the remarkable talent in both film and television sectors of the country.
Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne noted, "The Golden Globes consistently strives to honor international talent, and Brazil, with its extraordinary artists, narratives, and unique artistic vision, is no exception. We look forward to celebrating these amazing Latin American artists."
This new Brazilian event aligns with the Golden Globes' overarching objective to widen its global reach with events in key international entertainment capitals. Through this, they hope to showcase local narratives and promote regional talent on the worldwide stage.

In recent times, Brazilian filmmakers and creatives have been garnering global recognition, including Walter Salles’ acclaimed “I’m Still Here” which won the Oscar for international feature film this year. The film had also received nominations for best picture and best actress and was nominated for a Golden Globe in the foreign language film category.
The event, a collaboration between Passage Pictures CEO Uri Singer and entertainment mogul Orlando John, promises to display the dynamism and flamboyance unique to Brazil. Singer expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partner with the Golden Globes, highlighting the prestige of the event globally.
Further details regarding the Brazilian Golden Globes celebration will be released in early 2026. Meanwhile, the 83rd annual Golden Globes event, produced by Dick Clark Productions, is set to broadcast on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S on January 11. Nominations for Golden Globe Awards will be announced on December 8.
