Brittany Snow, 40, says her divorce from Selling the OC star Tyler Stanaland is one of the best things that ever happened to her.

"I can't believe I'm grateful for my divorce," the Pitch Perfect star said.

Snow opened up on Monday's episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, E! News reported. She credits the split with shaping who she is now, and who she's with.

I am so grateful that I went through that because the person that I am and the partner I'm with now, it's just so different.

"Just you and me, kiddo"

Snow married Stanaland, a real estate agent and reality star, in March 2020. They announced their separation in September 2022, she filed for divorce in January 2023, and they settled that July.

She remembers exactly where it left her. "I was 37 and I was living in an Airbnb, just staring at my dog being like, I don't know what's going to happen," she said, according to Reality Tea.

Her words to the dog: "It's just you and me, kiddo. We're going to try to rebuild this."

What got her through, she said, was other women: friends, and the stories women in their late 30s shared online about starting over. "I really appreciated so many women, friends of mine that were like, 'That happened to me.'"

Her takeaway: "We have to make it what we make of it."

The show that "burnt" it down

Snow has been less forgiving about how the marriage ended. On Call Her Daddy in March 2024, she said Stanaland's role on Selling the OC "burnt" their relationship down, and called the show a neon sign of a red flag.

She said then that she "did not know what was going on" with his on-screen romantic storylines with co-stars Alex Hall and Kayla Cardona on the Netflix series, E! News reported.

Stanaland hit back on Instagram: "Accusations of infidelity couldn't be further from the truth." He said he would make "no further comments on this matter."

On the podcast, though, Snow had nothing but kind words for the marriage itself.

"There was so much love," she said. "I don't regret anything that happened because I loved that time when we had it."

Both have moved on. Stanaland married Hannah Morrissey late last year, and Snow has been dating photographer Hunter Moreno since 2024.

Judging by Monday's interview, she wouldn't change a thing about how she got there.
