Looking to plan a last-minute spring break trip for your family? Look no further! We’ve rounded up 5 of the best Spring Break destinations for 2022 that the whole family will love (and won’t break your budget!)

Cocoa Beach, Florida

Far away from the party-goers in Destin or Miami, find a relaxing beach getaway at Cocoa Beach. This coastal town is just an hour east of Orlando.

Known for its calm waves, Cocoa Beach is the perfect place to take your first surfing lessons or enjoy a kayaking tour (where you might even spot a manatee or a dolphin!)

You can find family-friendly hotels for any budget along the coast, and kids will be sure to love exploring the Cocoa Beach pier!

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana boasts incredible all-inclusive resorts for families. Whether you prefer lounging on the beach or a week full of activities, this beautiful Caribbean island is the perfect blend. For excursions, you can find everything from snorkeling to ATV tours to horseback riding on the beach. And for adults, a trip to the Hard Rock Casino or a romantic dinner on the beach makes for the perfect date night.

Hilton Head, South Carolina

5 Unique Spring Break Destinations

This 42 square mile barrier island has no shortage of attractions for the whole family. Whether you’re looking to spend some leisure time on the beach, enjoy a spa day, or brush up on your golf and tennis skills, Hilton Head makes the perfect destination for Spring Break.

Over 60 miles of bike-friendly trails and wildlife preserves like the Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge also make Hilton Head an ideal vacation for a family looking to explore nature.

Palm Springs, California

If the West Coast’s sunny skies and desert landscapes are calling your name, consider Palm Springs for your Spring Break destination. Situated amongst a classic Western backdrop, stunning views of desert shrubbery and mountains will surround you. Be sure to take a ride on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for the best views at over 8,000 feet elevation!

Cool off with a dip in the pool, visit a dinosaur museum, or visit the gorgeous curated gardens at Shields Date Garden or Sunnylands Center & Gardens. For adventure-seeking travelers, visit Joshua Tree National Park for a hike (or even camp there for your accommodations!)

Washington D.C.

Not looking for a crowded beach vacation this year? Why not explore our nation’s capital instead!

D.C. has incredible family-friendly activities that are free or budget-friendly. The Smithsonian museums on the National Mall are free of charge – but be sure to arrive early in the day to beat the crowds at the Museum of Natural History, the Air and Space Museum, and the Museum of American History. Before or after your visit to the museums, walk around the National Mall to take in the Washington Monument and sit on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

The National Zoo also has free admission (and you can visit giant pandas Mei Xiang and Tian Tian)! You can book free tours of the White House and Capitol Building if you do so in advance. For outdoor adventures, escape from the city to visit Rock Creek Park, which includes over 1,700 acres of National Park Service land.
