- Jun 14, 2026
Bleecker Street Films and LD Entertainment recently acquired the U.S. distribution rights to Anton Corbijn's latest film, "A Talent For Murder". The film stars Helen Mirren, celebrated winner of Oscar, Emmy and Tony Awards, as renowned novelist Patricia Highsmith, known for her work, "The Talented Mr. Ripley".
In this complex thriller, Alden Ehrenreich, best known for his roles in "Weapons," "Oppenheimer" and his latest Tony-winning performance in "Becky Shaw", portrays a naive young literary agent from New York sent to Switzerland. His mission is to convince Highsmith to pen one last part of the Ripley anthology. Olivia Cooke, star of "House of the Dragon", completes the leading cast trio.
Directed by Corbijn and adapted from the 2014 play "Switzerland", this film has been eagerly awaited by fans and is set to hit cinemas this fall.
Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson expressed his excitement about this acquisition and the chance to work with LD Entertainment and Helen Mirren, expressing admiration for Corbijn’s unique tribute to Highsmith’s vivid character and gripping body of work.

Emphasizing that "A Talent For Murder" is the perfect project they enjoy creating, LD Entertainment's Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon praised Corbijn's unique approach to Highsmith’s world and the outstanding performances delivered by Mirren, Ehrenreich, and Cooke.
This film is but the latest partnership between Bleecker and LD Entertainment, adding to a list which includes "Bone Lake," "I.S.S.," "Teen Spirit," "Megan Leavey" and "Anthropoid", as well as the forthcoming theatrical release of Tony Award-winning musical “Hadestown.”
The film was produced by several individuals, including Troy Lum and Andrew Mason of Brouhaha; Jim Robison and Kurt Martin of Lunar Pictures; Carolyn Marks Blackwood of Magnolia Mae; Karl Spoerri of Zurich Avenue; and Andrea Occhipinti of Lucky Red. The production was financed by Head Gear Films, Metrol Technology, and LD Entertainment and the deal was brokered by Avy Eschenasy for Bleecker Street, with LD’s Michael Glassman and CAA Media Finance representing the filmmakers. FilmNation Entertainment is managing international sales.
