The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (December 17th, 2003)

The final part of Peter Jackson’s adaptation of Tolkien’s famous book, the Return of the King follows Frodo and Sam on their epic quest to destroy the One Ring. At the same time, the remaining members of the Fellowship are battling to give them more time through a desperate distraction. This classic movie, stars Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen and Orlando Bloom.

Avatar (December 18th, 2009)

This sci-fi adventure broke records and swept award shows. The movie features a tale of a paralyzed ex-Marine, Jake Sully, sent disguised as an alien to the moon, Pandora. Jake regains mobility with the help of one of the Avatars, human-hybrids, Na'vi, that live there. He then falls in love with Na'vi and finds himself in a battle for her home planet. This stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (March 19th, 2004)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind asks whether you could permanently erase bad memories – and never know that they existed. This is the situation Joel finds himself in. The movie focuses on Joel trying to retrace and recover the memories of his girlfriend. Starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet.

Donnie Darko (October 26th, 2001)

A cult classic, Donnie Dario follows the titular character as he is visited by Frank, who tells him that the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds. As the days go by, Donnie has more visions of Frank and is influenced by him to do things, with the ending leaving much open to interpretation. Is Donnie living in a parallel universe or is he suffering from a psychotic break? Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Donnie Darko, supported by Jena Malone and Mary McDonald.
