Disney continues to embrace its trend of revamping its own intellectual property with this much-awaited live-action remake of "Lilo & Stitch," a just 23-year-old animated classic. This reiteration caters to a fresh pool of potential fans and simultaneously serves the nostalgia of those who adore the original film, its three straight-to-video sequels, and the three TV series.

While creatives might argue the necessity of this live-action version, especially since Stitch is still animated, there is no denying its commercial significance, assuming politics don't disrupt the availability of cuddly toy versions of Stitch on store shelves.

Under the directorial vision of Dean Fleischer Camp, this movie, budgeted at around $100 million, pays homage to the original while introducing enough changes to make it feel somewhat fresh.
