Diving Into NBC's Latest Drama: "Line of Fire"
- Oct 2, 2026
Drawing a perfect blend of familiar and fresh, the new NBC/Peacock series “Line of Fire” comes with a tagline, "Every Case Hits Home". Created by Joshua Safran of “Quantico” and “Gossip Girl” fame, this riveting drama not only delivers an intriguing workplace narrative but also delves deep into the family dynamics behind the scenes.
In the series, the Hollingsworth family, immersed in law enforcement, comprises Jane (Hope Davis), a U.S. Marshal; Mike (Peter Krause), a freshly retired Secret Service agent; Clare (Kat Cunning), an FBI agent; Mike Jr. (Tommy O’Brien), also a Secret Service agent and, Russ (Taylor Bloom), the youngest son trying to carve his own niche within the Department of Justice. The show tantalizingly hints at a missing firstborn, played by Charlie Barnett, introducing a layer of mystery.
While the Hollingsworths are renowned for their professional acumen, their personal relationships present a completely different picture. Amidst a serial killer conspiracy and incessant family disputes, their dynamics form the core of the series. The procedural narrative is further intensified by the entry of Homeland Security Agent Nia Wallace (Antoinette Crowe-Legacy), with her keen observations and instincts that make her almost akin to a Hollingsworth.

Featuring a range of complex relationships, personal struggles, and high-stakes crime scenes – every conversation and the tiniest details can hold vital clues for the audience to piece together. To increase the intrigue, the show introduces various supporting characters, including the First Daughter of the United States, deeply influenced by executive producer Jenna Bush Hager.
A fusion of intricate family drama, procedural narrative, and a thrilling law enforcement story – “Line of Fire” serves up an appealing mix of suspense, emotional journey, and high-stakes crime, making it an enthralling watch this season. The first two episodes of “Line of Fire” premiere tonight, September 21, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and will be available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
