The iconic Dr. Seuss character, The Cat in the Hat, is coming back for more hijinks with the help of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. The well-loved protagonist will be played by Bill Hader, with Quinta Brunson alongside him in this first-ever animated rendition of the popular book. Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja are at the helm of directing, having previously portfolio credits on renowned animations like "Kung Fu Panda 3", "Trolls", and "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2". They are joined by a talented cast including Bowen Yang, Matt Berry, Xochitl Gomez, Tiago Martinez and Paula Pell.
This installment elucidates the adventures of the notorious Cat, who introduces a dash of disorder and fun into the lives of two children, grappling with their transition to a new city. The tantalizing first trailer unveils the Cat working in the Institute of Imagination with an array of characters like Pig With a Wig and the Yack With a Pack, spreading joy to children worldwide. But as the Cat embarks on his global journey to cheer up unhappy kids, he is set to face his most daunting challenge ever; a suspense that is yet to be unveiled in the movie.

During the first sneak peek at the Annecy Film Festival, Alessandro Carloni described the Cat as the perfect embodiment of 'carpe diem'. Moreover, he emphasized that the Cat in the Hat is all about enjoying the moment, which is quite fitting as it's the central theme of the movie. The film is set to hit the big screen on February 26, 2026.
