Entertainingly Explicit: A Review of the Netflix Movie 'Fixed'
- Aug 12, 2025
Breaking the norms of traditional animated films, the Netflix original movie 'Fixed' directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, is not for the faint-hearted or those easily offended by vulgar humor. The storyline unfolds around Bull, a male dog who's due to be neutered, and is voiced by Adam DeVine. Along with his friends, Bull embarks on a scandalous evening full of raw jokes, extreme situations, and hilarious escapades.
Steering clear of the censored boundaries of animation, 'Fixed' explores the adult-themed humor akin to shows like South Park, filled with innuendos and explicit comedy. The movie plays out like a dog-version of The 25th Hour, with the main character grappling with the fate of his impending neutering. Bull, who has a crush on Honey, the Afghan hound next door, attempts to enjoy his last night with his buddies before the operation.

The film features an illustrious voice-cast, including Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen and Bobby Moynihan, all bringing their unique comic flair to their respective characters. The outlandish hand-drawn animation further underscores the provocative humor, as we see talking testicles and a narcissistic show dog with a bleached anus.
Despite its unapologetic R-rated humor and endless offensiveness, 'Fixed' also manages to evoke an unexpected, emotional connection with the audience, who find themselves rooting for Bull and Honey by the end of the movie. Though a bold experiment in animation, 'Fixed' raises the bar for adult comedy, proving that animated films can cater to an older demographic whilst maintaining the essence of heartfelt storytelling.
