Gal Gadot Questions Return as Wonder Woman, Discusses Upcoming 'Bitcoin' Movie

In a recent "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, Gal Gadot, known for her role as Wonder Woman, commented that she may not return to the character if another movie offer arrives. The fact that she now has four children and other responsibilities make it difficult for her to dedicate a long amount of time to such a role.

Originally cast in Zack Snyder’s DC Universe in 2016, Gadot made her debut as the eponymous character in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". In 2017, she became the central character in the standalone film "Wonder Woman," which was directed by Patty Jenkins and grossed $824 million worldwide. This success was followed by a role in "Justice League" and the 2020 sequel "Wonder Woman 1984" under Jenkins again.

However, when Warner Bros. decided to reboot the DC Universe and handed the reigns over to James Gunn and Peter Safran, Jenkins' ideas for "Wonder Woman 3" were shelved. Despite previous speculation, Gadot later revealed that another sequel with her as Wonder Woman would not be pursued.

Gadot also opened up about her role in the upcoming film "Bitcoin" by Doug Liman. The film raised eyebrows due to its extensive use of AI for set design and lighting. Despite its cost of $70 million, production was said to have saved over $200 million due to the innovative use of AI. Gal Gadot explained that she ensured throughout that the AI elements would not influence her performance.

Gadot admits to some apprehension about AI, but says the technology is here to stay and must be embraced and understood. She reiterated that in "Bitcoin," the AI was used specifically for sets and lighting, and her performance remained entirely her own. Additionally, she compared the film's shooting process in a barebones warehouse to theater, with the shooting going nonstop without needing to pause for lighting changes.
