Apple TV+ is set to release a series based on Jennette McCurdy's autobiographical book "I'm Glad My Mom Died," with Jennifer Aniston in a leading role, according to Variety. The streaming service has confirmed an order for 10 episodes of the show, billed as a heartrending yet humorous exploration of McCurdy's challenges as a former child actor under the influence of her controlling and authoritarian mother, played by Aniston.

Known for her performance in "iCarly" and other TV series, McCurdy penned her memoir in 2022. The book, published by Simon & Shuster, quickly rose to the top of the New York Times bestseller list and remained there for over a year. McCurdy will work alongside Ari Katcher to write, executive produce, and supervise the show's production.

Apple Studios will produce the show, with Aniston also serving as an executive producer through her company Echo Films. Other executive producers include Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara.

In addition to her new role, Aniston continues to star in and produce Apple TV+'s hit drama "The Morning Show," which returns for its fourth season in September. Her performance in this series has earned her several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

The project marks another partnership between Apple and Horgan, following the series "Bad Sisters," which aired its second season on Apple in late 2024.
