Milo Productions and Fathom Entertainment Gear up to Release Muslim-themed Animation "Time Hoppers: The Silk Road"

Milo Productions Inc. and Fathom Entertainment are set to make history by releasing their joint animated feature, “Time Hoppers: The Silk Road,” on February 7 and 8. According to Michael Milo, Milo Productions CEO, the collaboration with Fathom demonstrates a significant moment for Muslim narratives. He emphasized that the film is a fruition of a decade-long vision to enable the Muslim community to recognize their histories and identities reflected in the mainstream cinema.

“Time Hoppers: The Silk Road” signifies the debut film of Milo Productions and stands as the first Muslim animation to reach a nationwide theatrical release. The film is adapted from an RPG game and is scheduled to make its debut on Muslim Kids TV's streaming service in 2026.

The feature film holds a mirror to the heritage of Muslim culture during Islam's “Golden Age.” It portrays notable figures from Muslim history, including key figures like Al-Khwarizmi, known as the "father of algebra," Ibn Al-Haytham, an optics pioneer, astronomer Maryam Al-Astrolabi, and Mansa Musa, a noted patron of science, education, and arts. Omar Suleiman, Dalia Mogahed, and Omar Regan, well-known Muslim-American academics and community members, are the voices behind the characters.

President of Fathom Entertainment, Ray Nutt, expressed his pride in collaborating with Milo Productions in delivering “Time Hoppers: The Silk Road.” He described the film as a family-friendly, authentic Muslim-themed animation created by Muslim Americans. Nutt added that the increasing Muslim American population, which accounts for roughly 4.5 million people nationally, forms an integral but underrepresented part of the country's diverse cultural and religious spectrum.

The film will not only add a fresh dimension to the animation genre but will also provide exclusive behind-the-scenes content offering insights into the making of the project. Tickets for “Time Hoppers: The Silk Road” will be obtainable from January 9 at Fathom Entertainment and partner theater box offices.
