Everybody experiences times in their lives when they wonder if they could have made a different decision to change the course of events. This may be the reason why this story, which simultaneously analyzes two parallel plots, is so intriguing.

The romantic comedy “Look Both Ways'' uses the idea of "two roads divided in the golden wood" to depict the story of a young animator named Natalie. She knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it to happen for her, and she has her life planned out for the next five years.

Natalie (Lili Reinhart) and her best buddy want to move to LA after college. She moved to Los Angeles to launch her animation career. Natalie buys a pregnancy test as the graduation party is going on while she and Gabe do something impulsive on their last night of college. Her hopes depend on this moment. She knows she can't follow her plan if she gets pregnant and keeps the baby. Initial test results relieve her tremendously.

Following Gabe and his band’s performance at the festival, Gabe and Natalie have a conversation. He explains that he and his former girlfriend split up soon after the engagement. They both admit their feelings for one another. Additionally, Natalie expresses her exhaustion by worrying about their potential failings. Natalie decides to try things out with Gabe and finally admits her feelings for him.

Natalie’s projects end up being an achievement for her in both realities. She thus makes a movie and releases it, despite not adhering to the five-year plan in both instances. She additionally finds happiness and love in both situations. When Jake returns, following her voice mail to see her craft at the festival, they both rekindle their romance.

The story ends right where it started - in the bathroom of the party where Natalie takes her pregnancy test. As she looks up to her friend to share the results, the credits roll out, and the audience is left wondering, which reality was actually Natalie’s fate.
The message behind the movie: What is meant to be, will be.
