The author of Heated Rivalry, Rachel Reid, is set to be recognized at The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Canada summit and gala taking place on May 28. Reid will be the recipient of the Changemaker Award at the prestigious function, held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto. In addition to this honour, she will participate in an onstage interview.

Reid, who is acclaimed for her successful Heated Rivalry series now transformed into a much-loved Crave and HBO Max romance drama featuring gay hockey players, is credited with reshaping the entertainment landscape. She is lauded for advocating fresh viewpoints, emphasizing marginalized voices, and challenging the status quo through her tales, as stated by the event organizers of WIE Canada.

The recognition aligns perfectly with Reid's work, especially Heated Rivalry, which forms part of the author's 'Game Changer' series. The book explores the passionate romance of characters Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, portrayed in the TV adaptation by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie. The second season of Heated Rivalry is set to premiere next year, paralleling the publication of Reid's seventh book in the Game Changers series, 'Unrivaled', slated for a June 2027 release.

Reid adds her name to the list of previously announced honorees like Andrea Martin, Malin Akerman, Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, and Stacey Aglok MacDonald. The organizers will declare more honorees and speakers in the forthcoming weeks.
