"Ramayana Part 1" Tops IMDb's Most Anticipated Indian Movies List

The most anticipated Indian film on IMDb in the second half of this year is director Nitesh Tiwari’s "Ramayana Part 1". This finding comes from the 20-title ranking based on page views recorded by over 250 million monthly viewers of IMDb between January 1st and June 28th. This ranking considers Indian films set for confirmed theater or streaming release in the latter half of the year. Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Ram, and Yash, in the role of Ravana, star in the top spot. Yash also secures a position at No. 3 with "Toxic." Films in the list are from five languages: 12 in Hindi, four in Tamil, two in Malayalam, one in Telugu, and one in Kannada.
Anil Kapoor makes appearances in the second ranked film "Alpha", starring Alia Bhatt, and the fourth spot "King", featuring Shah Rukh Khan. Ajay Devgn stars in the comedy sequel "Dhamaal 4" ranked fifth, and the crime thriller "Drishyam 3" at sixth place. Sunny Deol features in both "Ramayana Part 1" and the twelfth ranked "Ikka".

Prime Video's crime franchise "Mirzapur: The Movie" comes in eighth, debuting on the big screen. "Ikka", at twelfth place, is the only movie on the list that premiered directly to a streaming service.
