The long-anticipated sequel to Searchlight’s 2019 horror sensation, “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” is officially slated for a nationwide theatrical release on April 10, 2026. The original film's star, Samara Weaving, will reprise her role as Grace. Joining her in the cast are Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg and Elijah Wood.

Behind the scenes, much of the original “Ready or Not” creative ensemble is returning for the sequel, including directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, along with writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Others making a comeback include production designer Andrew Stearn, director of photography Brett Jutkiewicz, costume designer Avery Plewes, and makeup head Colin Penman.

Seasoned editor Jay Prychidny, hair department head Ryan Reed, and sound mixer Thomas Hayek will be new additions to the sequel’s crew.

In “Ready or Not,” Weaving portrayed a newlywed who unknowingly marries into a diabolically wealthy family that has a deadly twist on the traditional game of hide and seek. Despite its modest $6 million price tag to produce, the film grossed $28 million domestically, marking it as Searchlight’s top release of 2019.

Filming for the sequel kicked off in Toronto this past April, and Searchlight has just announced the completion of production. The producers for the sequence are Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak, with Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Busick, Murphy, Weaving and Paul Neinstein serving as executive producers.

At Searchlight Pictures, the project is being overseen by VP of production Richard Ruiz and creative executive Cornelia Burleigh, who report to production and development heads DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas. The plot of the sequel remains a coveted secret.
