Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot star in this action-packed heist-turned-action thriller from Netflix.

What's It About?

We start with the mythology of an ancient artifact. According to legend, a Roman general gifted Cleopatra three golden eggs. After their suicide, the eggs were scattered to different parts of the earth to remain hidden.

One of the eggs is in a Roman museum. Another belongs to a private collector. And the third is nowhere to be found … or is it?

So who's on the hunt for them? Apparently, an Egyptian billionaires wants to gift them to his daughter at her wedding and is paying big money for it.

Red Notice Review

Ryan Reynolds plays Nolan Booth, a master thief, who is being tracked by Johnson Hartley, FBI agent (The Rock). But both of them appear to be conned by a mysterious criminal named The Bishop every step of the way.

Hartley is framed and Booth is loosing out on his money. They need to work together to get back on their feet.

Watch It Or Not?

Considering the cast, you think this would have the action, suspense, intrigue, and comedic punches a blockbuster hit would have. But this one falls pretty flat. I had a hard time staying awake. And the many plot twists, instead of being surprising, made me roll my eyes. It's like they tried a little too hard.

Neither the film, the script, nor the actors provide any reason to care about these characters or this plot. What does it matter if they attain all three eggs? The world isn’t on the verge of ending. No governments are being harmed. No one’s life is in danger. Instead, this film is merely an incoherent preamble, that tried to tee up a franchise. But let's hope it doesn't come to that.
