Universal has unveiled the official trailer for "Wicked: For Good", the second installment of the groundbreaking 2024 Broadway movie adaptation. The sequel marks the return of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande who revises their roles as Elphaba and Glinda respectively. Alongside them, audiences will see the acting talents of Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz, Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp, and Bowen Yang as Pfannee. This duo of films was directed by Jon M. Chu from scripts written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox.

The story of "Wicked: For Good" unfolds in the Land of Oz, both preceding and succeeding Dorothy Gale's journey from Kansas. Narrating events from the second act of the original musical, the movie puts to test the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda as they step into their new identities as the Wicked Witch of the West and ​Glinda the Good Witch of the North. The film delves into​ the ripple effects of these transformations which irrevocably alters ​the fabric of Oz.

The predecessor "Wicked" was an unprecedented blockbuster, earning $756 million globally at the box office and thus marking the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation in history. It also secured a spot as Universal's third highest-grossing movie of all time. Its successes reached the Academy Awards as it was nominated 10 times including for best picture, lead actress for Erivo, supporting actress for Grande, costume design, editing, makeup and hairstyling, production design, original score, sound, and visual effects. It bagged the Oscar for costume design, making Paul Tazewell the first Black man to win in this category, as well as for production design.

"Wicked: For Good" is slated to hit the theaters on Nov. 21, offering another dose of enchantment and wonder.
