A reimagining of the 1981 adrenaline-rushing thriller “Possession” featuring Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley is lined up for a summer release in 2027. Paramount is deciding to unveil the movie in theaters on June 11, 2027, and it is scheduled to debut alongside Universal’s real-life captured “How to Train Your Dragon 2.”

“Smile's" Parker Finn is undertaking the endeavor of adapting “Possession,” a narrative centering on the complex relationship between a spy and his wife. The wife begins to manifest disconcerting demeanor after requesting a divorce. The original masterpiece was penned and helmed by the renowned Polish director Andrzej Żuławski and headlined by Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani.

In the new rendition, Turner and Qualley will portray the couple, with additional cast members Diego Calva, Madeline Brewer, Emory Cohen, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Paul Dano, whose specific roles remain undisclosed.

The production of “Possession” will be managed by Finn, Jonathan Fass, Roy Lee, Andrew Childs, and Robert Pattinson, with Marc Bienstock acting as the executive producer.

Qualley is renowned for her roles in “The Substance,” “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” and “Poor Things.” She will grace the screens next in Ridley Scott’s dystopian sci-fi thriller “The Dog Stars,” heart-warming drama “Love of Your Life” with Patrick Schwarzenegger, and “King Snake” directed by Jeff Nichols.

Turner’s previous credits include “Eternity,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” and “The Boys in the Boat.” He will be appearing alongside Monica Barbaro in the racy romantic comedy “One Night Only,” set to air this summer, exploring a single night of legal premarital relations.

Before “Possession” grips the theaters, other movie openings from Paramount consist of the eagerly awaited “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie,” the riveting crime drama “By Any Means” starring Mark Wahlberg and Yahya Abdul Mateen II, “Street Fighter,” the Johnny Depp-starrer “Ebenezer,” and “The Angry Birds Movie 3.”
