The first episode of She-Hulk opens with Jennifer Walters practicing her closing arguments for a major trial, prompting encouragement from her paralegal, Nikki and annoyance from rival lawyer, Dennis. Nikki suggests that if the case goes badly, Jen could just “Hulk out”, leading to Jen breaking the fourth wall to turn to the camera and state that she is a Hulk.

Flashback to a few months ago, when Jen first gained her powers.

Whilst on a road trip with her cousin, Bruce Banner, a spaceship suddenly appears, causing them to crash. Jen and Bruce end up stuck in the wreckage of the car, but Jen manages to struggle free, cutting her arm in the process. Whilst dragging out Bruce, blood from his wound drips into hers, causing her to immediately "Hulk out" and run away into the trees.

We then cut to Jen in a bar bathroom, where some women assist her with her wounds. She starts to deal with some unpleasant characters in the bar, but Bruce stops her and takes her to Mexico to explain how to manage the Hulk.

When Bruce says it is triggered by anger and fear, Jen points out that these are everyday emotions for women and proves that she can control them as well as her "Hulking out." Although Bruce wants her to use her powers for good, Jen decides to ignore.

Back at the trial, Titania, a woman with super strength, crashes through the courtroom wall. Reluctantly, Jen uses her own powers to stop her, "Hulking out" in public for the first time.

In the post-credits scene, Jen pretends to be drunk in order to get Bruce to answer her question about when Captain America lost his virginity.
