"Superman: Man of Tomorrow" Completes Filming

James Gunn, known director and writer, recently took to social media to confirm the completion of principal photography for the highly anticipated sequel to 2025's "Superman," titled "Superman: Man of Tomorrow." In Gunn's online posts, he included two photos from the set – one featuring a cannonballing Nicholas Hoult (playing Lex Luthor), and another of the film's dedicated crew.

"Superman: Man of Tomorrow" brings back David Corenswet as the iconic Man of Steel. This sequel throws Superman into an unfamiliar situation, forcing him to ally with his foe, Lex Luthor, to counter a formidable threat – Brainiac, a super-intelligent adversary played by Lars Eidinger.

As for the returning cast, we can expect to see Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and more. Millie Alcock, who made her first appearance as Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El, in the DC film "Supergirl," will also be part of the sequel. Additionally, "Man of Tomorrow" is introducing Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, initially featured in the HBO Max series "Lanterns."

Gunn has made sure to keep fans engaged and anticipative, providing regular updates via his social media platforms about the movie's progress, which included sharing an early look at Luther's imposing war suit. The excitement continues to build, with the movie scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 9, 2027.
