"The Devil Wears Prada 2" Begins Filming With Returning Star-Studded Cast
- Jul 5, 2025
Hollywood announces the much-anticipated return of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci for "The Devil Wears Prada 2," now officially under production. Adding to the star-studded team will be Kenneth Branagh who will portray the role of Meryl Streep's character's spouse. The news was confirmed by Disney’s 20th Century Studios via a cryptic Instagram post featuring a pair of fiery red heels.
"The Devil Wears Prada" is based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2004 novel and follows the story of an aspiring journalist, played by Hathaway, who lands a job at a prestigious fashion magazine only to be at the mercy of her relentless editor-in-chief, played by Streep.

While the sequel's precise plot remains under wraps, reports suggest a focus on Streep's character, Miranda Priestly, as she tries to navigate the evolving landscape of magazine publishing. With her once assistant, played by Blunt, now a high-profile executive in a luxury group, tensions rise as advertising dollars become a necessity for Priestly. Hathaway's Andy Sachs's role in the sequel remains uncertain following her resignation from Runway and transition to newspaper journalism in the previous film. Director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna are slated to return alongside producer Karen Rosenfelt.
"The Devil Wears Prada 2" is set to hit the theaters on May 1, 2026.
