Ilonka opens The Midnight Club episode four in the cellar. Matches are lit. She grabs another fast and lights it. The lady has vanished. Kevin ultimately alerts the other kids and convinces them to visit this room before heading back down to collect Ilonka.

They realize the walls, ceiling, and floor are all painted while holding flashlights in their hands. There is also a book there that Julia Jayne has autographed. Actually, Julia was the one who started the Midnight Club, and it also contains the phrase they repeat before each meeting.

The majority of the children are terrified when Sandra discovers a ritual dagger and hoods for the cultists. All but Ilonka, Anya, and Kevin depart.

Sandra subtly advises everyone to find alternative methods to mourn Tristan's passing rather than prodding about things that need to be left alone during the awkward group therapy session that follows.

Ilonka enters the woodland and meets Shasta, the odd woman, once more. Ilonka is urged to read in the library as she leaves her contact information. Medical care is covered in sections 600 and 619, respectively. This might contain a tip-off to treatment for her illness.

Pointing to a camera mounted on the trees where Ilonka has been watching events, she is told after she leaves that she is welcome to come back at any moment.

Spence is examined by Mark, who draws blood, as Kevin gets ready and leaves for his prom. The recovery room's communication system crackles as he enters the hallway, and a faint voice can be heard saying "hello." The room was initially locked, but when Spence asks Mark to look inside, nothing is there.
