The much-anticipated Elizabeth Holmes documentary, "You Can See Everything," directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, made its striking debut at the New York Film Festival. The film initially garnered widespread attention and Oscar buzz during its surprise Telluride Film Festival premiere.

The engaging three-hour-long piece left the audience awestruck, gasping, laughing, and squirming in their seats as it navigated through the convoluted events leading to Holmes’ prison sentence and her secluded family life with Billy Evans.

In the 34 days leading up to Holmes' sentencing for her duplicitous role in the Theranos debacle, she and Evans invited Fielder and Oppenheim into their home. The documentary reflects Holmes's elusive personality as it highlights her persistence in maintaining her innocence, making the viewers question the authenticity of her statements.

Fielder and Oppenheim got in touch with Holmes after Oppenheim contacted Fielder, having learned that he had partial knowledge of his previous documentary. The two filmmakers built a rapport and began to explore the prospect of documenting Holmes' life as suggested by her to A24, after being reminded of her by a magic trick at Magic Castle.

Fielder described his confusing experiences while interacting with Holmes, oscillating between finding her genuine and recognizing her dishonesty. This ongoing confusion formed an intriguing groundwork for the film as they debated the many ambiguous moments captured on film.

The first teaser for the documentary went viral as it captured Holmes pledging her honesty to Fielder. The eccentricity of the situation was further highlighted by the full trailer which featured Fielder living with Holmes and Evans round the clock, forming an intrusive yet fascinating view into Holmes' life.

Recalling the surprising time spent with Holmes, Fielder recalled his improbable position in their lives and the peculiar choice they made by letting him in. His confusion mirrored the audiences', as he could not comprehend why Holmes and Evans chose him to document their tumultuous life.

After establishing his name through his unconventional work, combining documentary style with scripted narratives, Fielder ventured into his film directorial debut with "You Can See Everything." He collaborated with Oppenheim, known for his unique documentaries focusing on peculiar communities.

Audiences eagerly await the release of "You Can See Everything," in theaters on Oct. 16, while Fielder and Oppenheim requested preserving the plot twists for the unassuming viewers.
