Aziza Scott Joins Star-Studded Cast of "Italianna"

Aziza Scott, renowned for her roles in popular TV shows like "Home Before Dark", "The Fosters" and "Insecure", has officially become a part of "Italianna"- the upcoming romantic comedy by Universal Pictures and Will Packer Productions. "Italianna" boasts of an impressive cast, including stars like Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page, and now Scott. She recently captured audiences’ hearts with her outstanding performance in the hit comedy "One of Them Days", produced by Issa Rae.

Directed by Kat Coiro and penned by Ryan Engle, "Italianna" derives its story from an original concept by Ryan and Kristin Engle. The plot and Scott's character specifics remain shrouded in secrecy. The film is going to hit theatres on April 10, 2026.

The film is being orchestrated by producers Will Packer and Johanna Byer who are leveraging Will Packer Productions’ first-look agreement with Universal Pictures. Senior EVP Erik Baiers and director of development Jacqueline Garell are supervising the project on behalf of Universal Pictures, while Alvie Hurtado is managing it for Will Packer Productions.

In a conversation with Variety, Packer portrayed the movie as “aspirational", hinting at the intended demographic, a Black Gen Z woman. He expressed his desire for the viewer to see herself on the screen and fuel her faith in love and in the possibility of a brighter future.
