The project is helmed by BAFTA-nominated Georgia Oakley, with a screenplay penned by best-selling author Diana Reid. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films will produce the film in collaboration with India Flint of November Pictures and Jo Wallett.

“Sense and Sensibility,” the debut work of renowned author Jane Austen, tells the tale of two sisters navigating love, loss, and financial instability after being compelled to leave their ancestral estate in Sussex. The novel has been adapted for the screen several times, most famously in 1995 with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet as Elinor and Marianne, respectively. Focus Features has backed two previous adaptations of Austen's work: 2005’s “Pride and Prejudice” featuring Keira Knightly and 2020’s “Emma” with Anya-Taylor Joy.
