Warner Bros. Pictures recently unveiled the first trailer for its much-anticipated monster movie, "The Bride", directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale. The plot revolves around a desolate Frankenstein, portrayed by Bale, who, in the 1930s, embarks on a journey to Chicago to enlist the help of Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion. They rejuvenate a murdered young woman, and thus the Bride, played by Buckley, comes into existence. Unforeseen results ensue, leading to an unexpected romance, police attention, and the genesis of a fervent and transformative social movement.

Derived from the iconic "Bride of Frankenstein" by James Whale and the seminal 1818 novel "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley, "The Bride" has garnered a star-studded cast. Apart from Buckley and Bale, other members include Penélope Cruz as Myrna, Annette Bening, Peter Sarsgaard, Julianne Hough, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

"The Bride" makes for Gyllenhaal's second stint as director after her 2021 film "The Lost Daughter," which received three Academy Award nominations and featured Buckley and Sarsgaard. Additional behind-the-scenes talent includes "Joker" cinematographer Lawrence Sher, "Cinderella" costume designer Sandy Powell, and "Elvis" production designer Karen Murphy.
