"Freakier Friday" Cast Ignites Hype with Unexpected Disneyland Performance
- Jul 20, 2025
With only three weeks left before the anticipated release of "Freakier Friday", the promotional tour has begun in quite the punk style. The leading actors of the movie sequel, Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray, alongside some of the new faces in the cast, surprised visitors at Disneyland with a live performance on Tuesday.
Fans of Jamie Lee Curtis, an Oscar-winning actress, observed her energetic engagement in the performance as she donned a vivid pink suit and sang along to Pink Slip’s track, "Take Me Away."
Pink Slip, a makeshift band, was formed by Lindsey Lohan's character Anna in the 2003 movie. Initially, Curtis's character, Tess, was not enthusiastically supportive of Anna's rock music aspirations. Christina Vidal, from the original film, assumed the role of the band's vocalist and, as seen in the video, she revisits this role to give a captivating rendition of "Take Me Away."
Curtis's active participation in the performance was exceptionally well-received by fans. Her miming of the song lyrics stirred memories of the iconic movie moment when Lohan, after swapping bodies with her mother, Tess, tries to convincingly play an electric guitar on stage while Curtis, channeling a young Tess backstage, masterfully played the guitar parts.
Disney+ subscribers can revisit the classic "Freaky Friday" ahead of the sequel's debut for $9.99 monthly on its newly launched ad-supported plan. An ad-free viewing option is also available for $15.99 monthly. Customers can also save 16% by paying $159.99 for a yearly subscription.

Who knows what the future holds for Pink Slip in the sequel? Will they attain mainstream rock success? Time will tell. However, a video posted by Patrick Dougall on his Instagram assures fans that the band's rock prowess is as solid as ever.
Moreover, the latest "Freakier Friday" trailer gives fans a lot to anticipate about Anna's deep-seated love for punk rock music. This time, though, the story involves Anna marrying Eric (Manny Jacinto), making her a stepmother to his daughter, Lily (Sophia Hammons), while also being a mother to a daughter of her own, Harper (Julia Butters).
The plot twist? Tess and Anna swap bodies once more, enabling Curtis and Lohan to reprise their roles as teenagers pursuing a plan to derail Anna and Eric's impending marriage by reconnecting her with her former partner, Jake, portrayed by Chad Michael Murray.
With the movie set to release on August 8, the hype for the sequel is palpable, particularly after the exciting Disneyland stunt.
