Heartbreaking Episode of "9-1-1" Features Captain Bobby Nash's Funeral
- May 7, 2025
After a two-week break, the popular show "9-1-1" aired an emotionally charged episode featuring the funeral of Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause). In the preceding episode, Krause’s character tragically succumbed to a virus, and gave up his only chance of survival to save his teammate Chimney (Kenneth Choi).
The recent episode, aired on May 1, started with a flashback from eight years ago, portraying Bobby and his team responding to an emergency call. The team rescued a mother, Leah, from a house fire, but tragically couldn't find her infant son, Mika, in time.
In the present day, Athena (Angela Bassett), Bobby’s wife, struggles with planning his funeral and decides on a resting place for Bobby. Matters complicate when the body can't be released for burial. Meanwhile, Athena’s anger on Chimney escalates when she discovers him pressuring the department to release Bobby’s body.
Incidentally, Athena encounters a man in search of Bobby who, upon learning of Bobby's death, introduces himself as Leah's brother, revealing that Leah now believes her long-lost son Mika is alive. Leah, who had recognized a boy named Cameron at a party as Mika, based on a similar birthmark, is convinced of a kidnapping conspiracy.

Though initially skeptical, Athena eventually finds herself diving deep into the case, motivated by a spectral encounter with Bobby. However, a DNA test proves that Cameron is not Mika, devastating Leah and Athena alike.
In an echo from the past, the viewers are shown a scene where Bobby consoles Leah in the hospital post-fire, sharing his own lived experience of losing his children and wife in a fire.
In Bobby’s funeral observed in the present timeline, all members of the station 118 are present. After a grand procession in the Los Angeles streets, Athena and her family takes Bobby’s casket to St. Paul, Minnesota to be interred with his first wife, Marcy, and his two children, Robert Jr. and Brooke. The episode concludes on a tender note as Athena says, "Rest easy, you're home now, baby," after sealing kisses on his casket.
