
Iris Apatow and Edvin Ryding Join Cast of 'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping'

Production has begun on the Lionsgate film 'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping', with Iris Apatow and Edvin Ryding completing the cast. The duo will portray Proserpina and Vitus, Capitol University students tasked with preparing the District 12 Tributes.
The film also boasts a stellar ensemble including Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Jesse Plemons, Billy Porter, and Lili Taylor. Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, and Ben Wang, among rising stars, are also featured.
Slated for a global release on Nov. 20, 2026, this film is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping." Francis Lawrence is the director, with a screenplay adapted by Billy Ray. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson from Color Force, along with Lawrence, are producers, and Cameron MacConomy is the executive producer. The five films in this franchise have collectively earned over $3.3 billion at the box office.
The international distribution roster for 'Sunrise on the Reaping' includes partners such as Leonine, Metropolitan, Nordisk, and Belga, clearly boosted by the illustrious cast.

In addition to the main cast, an announcement was made about the supporting actors in the film, including Laura Marcus, Percy Daggs IV, Rada Rae, Jhaleil Swaby, John Doeble, Alina Reid, Salimou Thiam, Kaine Buffonge, Sky Frances, Tatyana Muzondo, Kara Tointon, Smylie Bradwell, Melody Chikakane Brown, Grace Ackary, Scot Greenan, Jeffrey Hallman, Sandra Förster, Serafin Mishiev, Jax Guerrero, and Jefferson White.
Lionsgate’s Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien are overseeing 'Sunrise on the Reaping', and Robert Melnik handled the casting negotiations for the studio.
Iris Apatow is currently filming a recurring role for the Hulu series 'Tell Me Lies'. Her previous roles include the Netflix series 'Unstable' and the film 'Ballerina Overdrive'. Edvin Ryding is known for his work in the Netflix series 'Young Royals' and had a standout role in Danny Boyle’s '28 Years Later'.
'Sunrise on the Reaping', published on March 18, takes audiences back to the world of Panem 24 years before 'The Hunger Games'. It starts on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. This book has sold 1.5 million copies worldwide in its first week, more than double the sales of the last 'Hunger Games' book. The anticipation for the film has also led to new experiences, including a stage play adaptation of 'The Hunger Games' set to premiere in London in October.
