Justin Timberlake is ready to tell his side, and one of the most famous women in his story won't be in it.

The singer, 45, has made a four-part "tell-all" docuseries for Apple TV that is set to premiere in December, according to sources who spoke to Variety, Page Six reports.

Janet Jackson, 60, sat for an interview and will talk about the "wardrobe malfunction" at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, Variety's sources said.

Britney Spears, 44, didn't. A source with direct knowledge told TMZ that she "was NOT asked to sit for an interview for the project."

The series is directed by Fisher Stevens, who made the Beckham docuseries for Netflix, according to The A.V. Club. It also marks a return for Timberlake, who has been largely out of the public eye for the past year, after disclosing a Lyme disease diagnosis in 2025.

Several of his NSYNC bandmates are in it too, at least on camera. They sat for separate interviews backstage at Timberlake's show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles a couple of years ago, TMZ reports.

They talked about their time in the band, not a reunion or any plans for one, and it's unclear who made the final cut. The project was reportedly finished around the start of the year.

'It's over'

Spears may not be in the room, but she's still in the story: another source said Timberlake will address her recent comments about him, Page Six reports.

The pair dated from 1999 to 2002. In her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears confirmed he ended it by text, with two words: "It's over."

She also claimed he cheated on her with a "very popular" woman, and wrote that he "definitely wasn't happy" about a pregnancy during their relationship.

It's a long way back. Timberlake started out as a Mouseketeer on the 1993 reboot of The Mickey Mouse Club.

It's over.

In 2021, Timberlake publicly apologized to both Spears and Jackson, saying he "benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism."

Then came 2024, and a DWI arrest in Sag Harbor, New York. A line widely attributed to him that night, "This is going to ruin the tour," was a misreport, The A.V. Club notes. What he actually said was: "It's hard to explain. A world tour. I'm Justin Timberlake."

Janet's turn

The 2004 halftime show ended with Jackson's costume reveal, and the fallout landed mostly on her. The FCC investigated after more than half a million complaints, according to Page Six.

Jackson apologized the next day, saying the "costume reveal" was "made after final rehearsals." She has said she was pressured to pull out of presenting at the 2004 Grammys, and that her videos and singles were blacklisted by MTV and by CBS chief Les Moonves.

In a 2022 Lifetime documentary, Jackson said she and Timberlake had forgiven each other and were now good friends.

Apple TV hasn't announced a title or a release date. Page Six reached out to reps for Apple, Timberlake, Jackson and Spears, and hadn't heard back.
