The seventh episode of the series "Lanterns" made a sweeping performance with 7 million viewers recorded in the U.S. in its first three days of availability. This number is a combination of the Nielsen’s linear viewership measurement on HBO's cable channel added to streams on HBO Max. Showing impressive figures to date, the DC Universe series comes in with an average of over 12 million viewers per episode in the U.S., which extends to nearly 19 million when considering international viewership.

The strong averages so far could hint at a further increase. To draw a comparison, HBO's relatively similar series, “It: Welcome to Derry," recorded 6.5 million U.S. viewers within three days for its highest-viewed episode. It later achieved a global average of 19.7 million viewers.

"HBO's other recent dramas for comparison include “Euphoria," which registered 8.7 million global viewers within three days for its Season 3 finale, and “The Pitt," with 9.7 million finale viewers in the U.S. for its second season. HBO's last DC series, “The Penguin," ended with a per episode average of more than 27 million viewers in 2024.

The series "Lanterns" continues to attract fresh viewers as it moves forward, bagging 1.5 million new viewers for the series premiere in the past week. The series finale is set to be released this upcoming Sunday.
