Netflix has dropped the initial trailer for the sequel, "The Old Guard 2," which showcases franchise magnet, Charlize Theron, back in action for an additional venture to save humanity. The official synopsis for "The Old Guard 2" elucidates, “Andy (Theron) marshals immortal warriors to fight against an almighty adversary encroaching their team. A long-forgotten immortal re-emerges, adding intricacy to their mission to protect humanity."

The cast enlists Kiandra “KiKi” Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Veronica Ngo, Henry Golding, Uma Thurman, and Kamil Nozynski.

The film is directed by Victoria Mahoney with a screenplay by Leandro Fernandez, Greg Rucka, and Sarah L. Walker. The producing team includes Theron, A.J. Dix, David Ellison, Marc Evans, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Beth Kono, and Gina Prince-Bythewood. Executive producers are Rucka, Marco Valerio Pugini, and Denis L. Stewrart. "The Old Guard 2" is derived from a graphic novel penned by Rucka and illustrated by Fernandez.

"The Old Guard," the original film released in 2020, was streamed by an impressive 72 million households during its initial month on Netflix. The sequel was supposed to premiere earlier than 2025 but suffered a setback due to Netflix’s restructure and a five-week post-production shutdown, as explained by Theron.
