- Jul 15, 2025
The New York Comedy Festival, marking its 21st year this November, is all set to enthrall audiences across the five boroughs with a stellar lineup of comedians. Among the highlights of the event are Alex Edelman, Chris Fleming, the Basement Yard duo and a much-anticipated "Strangers With Candy" reunion.
Comedy icons like Margaret Cho, Louis C.K., Hannah Berner, Pete Holmes, Nurse John, Morgan Jay, Ismo, Trevor Wallace and more are billed to perform. The festival touted as the longest running yearly comedy event in the country according to Caroline Hirsch, the founder and owner.
Hirsch expressed enthusiasm about this year's roster, calling it “a dynamic mix of global headliners and rising voices that reflect where comedy is right now and where it’s headed.” She further underscored the festival's commitment to highlight new talents, champion fresh perspectives and shape a gold standard event in both creative and commercial terms.

One of the new voices slated to perform are 'the Basement Yard' podcast duo Joe Santagato and Frank Alvarez, who are excited about entertaining New York in the best possible way they can. The festival also hosts the 'Stand Up for Heroes' fundraising event which has raised $113 million since 2007 to support veterans and military families and is a staple of the event.
Fans can also look forward to the reunion of comedy trio Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello, who created the cult hit "Strangers With Candy”. Tickets become available from July 21, with the event scheduled to run from Nov.7-16.
