Vin Diesel, the renowned actor from the "Fast and Furious" franchise, is set to not just star, but also script the upcoming "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots" movie produced by Mattel Studios. In addition to crafting the screenplay, Diesel will also take on a production role under his own company, One Race Films.

In line with the iconic Red Rocker and Blue Bomber from the legendary tabletop boxing game, the film will spin an original live-action adventure. Expressing his enthusiasm, Diesel divulged his excitement at developing this story that explores competition, strength, and dominance while unveiling the power of compassion at its heart.

Robbie Brenner, the President of Mattel Studios, and its Chief Content Officer described Diesel as a heartful, compelling storyteller with unparalleled expertise in action and world-building. He lauded Diesel's creative vision for the iconic game as audacious, human-focused, and intensely filmic.

Alongside Diesel, the film project will be supervised by Darian Greenbaum and Andrew Scannell for Mattel Studios. This comes after the company’s huge success with Barbie and also an opportunity for the studio to augment its presence in the film scope. It plans to venture into live-action cinema with the "Masters of the Universe" movie in 2026, featuring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor and a "Matchbox" racing movie, starring John Cena.
