'Everyone's postpartum journey is different': Angel hits back at critics

Barbara Palvin, 33, walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway in lingerie about six weeks after giving birth. Not everyone loved it.

Now the Victoria's Secret Angel has answered the people who said she should have stayed home.

Palvin and her husband, actor Dylan Sprouse, 34, welcomed their daughter, Sylvie, on Sept. 7, E! News reported.

Forty-one days later, on Oct. 18, she was back on the Victoria's Secret runway in Los Angeles. She walked twice that night, The Daily Beast reported, including in a sheer pale-pink look with matching lingerie.

Some fans cheered. Others asked whether she was setting an unrealistic standard for new mothers, Marie Claire reported.

She answered on Halloween night, at the Sprouse House Halloween party in Los Angeles.

"Honestly, there were 50-50 with the reactions," she told E! News. "Some people loved that I was back, and some people were like, maybe I should be resting at home."

She credited the people around her. "I'm lucky that I have the support from my husband and my family," she said.

Sprouse had already made his position clear, sharing a message praising her for the walk after the show.

The runway she fought to get back to

The show means a lot to her. Palvin first walked for Victoria's Secret in 2012, then waited six years to return in 2018, and was named an Angel in 2019, according to Marie Claire.

So when the show came round this year, six weeks after Sylvie arrived, she wasn't going to sit it out.

Her answer to the critics is simple: her body, her daughter, her timeline.

And judging by the 50-50 split she described, half the internet is firmly on her side.
