Hollywood star, 30, slips into an Oscar winner's tiny bikini top from 2000

Zendaya, 30, spent Halloween in a string bikini top and very low-rise trousers, and the look was 26 years old.

It's the Lanvin outfit Halle Berry wore to the X-Men premiere in 2000.

The look from Ellis Island

Berry wore the outfit to the New York premiere of X-Men on Ellis Island in July 2000. She played Storm in the film, and the outfit got almost as much attention as the movie.

It was a Lanvin Fall 2000 set: a printed string triangle top with matching low-rise, wide-leg trousers in yellow and brown, E! News reported.

For Halloween, Zendaya wore the Lanvin look again, and her stylist Law Roach shared the photos on Instagram on Oct. 31.

"Zendaya channeling Halle Berry wearing @lanvin Fall 2000," he wrote, thanking the Lanvin team.

Zendaya made a few changes of her own. Berry wore round yellow-tinted sunglasses and a metallic belly chain. Zendaya went for purple-tinted rimless aviators and pointed nude stilettos, Rolling Out reported, with bright red nails, according to theFashionSpot.

The haircut was the giveaway

The tribute has been building for weeks. Zendaya debuted a short pixie cut at the Emmys on Sept. 14, and fans compared her to Berry that night, Rolling Out reported.

With the pixie still in place, the Halloween version looks almost identical to the 2000 photos, right down to the low-slung waistband and the tiny triangle top.

Berry has already given the comparison her blessing. Speaking to People in September, after the Emmys, she was clearly touched.

Neither star has commented on the Halloween look itself.

It arrives at a quiet moment for Zendaya, who is resting after a busy year before the press tour for Dune: Part Three, Rolling Out reported.

Berry was 33 when she wore it. Two years later she won the Oscar for best actress.

Zendaya is 30. If history repeats, she knows exactly what to wear to her next premiere.
