Netflix Pieces of Her Review

You may have seen Pieces of Her on your Netflix account, the latest thriller type series starring Toni Colette. Here’s a quick review if you are debating watching!

Pieces of Her

Many feel Netflix has a monopoly on film, leaving all other cinemas out of the picture. I wanted to know how much truth was in those claims and how well “Piece of Her” held up against the competition. Needless to say, I decided not to watch any of the other films because this one is my favorite and that’s all that matters.

What’s It About?

The story follows Michelle (Anna Kendrick) and her husband, Clay (Jason Mitchell), who have been married for a long time and move constantly. This leads to them being more disconnected from and less affectionate towards each other.

One night, when Clay goes to the store while Michelle is at work, he notices that the gas light on their car is on and the car is in the garage. After a while, when Michelle gets home, she notices that their dog has disappeared. Someone must have kidnapped him.

After searching hard all over the house, she eventually finds her beloved pet who died some months back because of a broken heart. She realizes her husband has been having an affair and takes it out on him. She calls her sister and has her come over to the house to pick up Clay, and she tosses him out.. She was about to flee, but she decides to return home and investigate the dog’s disappearance.

The next day, Clay is at their old home, which Michelle’s family bought for them when they got married. Michelle is about to take his car when she notices that it’s not his car, but belongs to a woman named Katie (Kate Beckinsale).

he picks up the phone numbers from him and starts dialing them. During this, Clay sneaks into their house too, hoping to get some of his possessions back. Michelle confronts him, and he runs off with his stuff… once again. She tries to call Katie at home, but she doesn’t answer.

After some searching, they find out that Clay hasn’t been at their new home all day, so they head over there. When they get there, they realize that Clay isn’t at their home after all, and the neighbor’s house has been broken into. They find the missing suitcase (that Michelle had left behind) in the attic, and inside there is a lot of incriminating evidence about his affair.

Watch It Or not?

Michelle digs through the suitcase and realizes he is with Katie — they were planning on running away together. He doesn’t even have a change of clothes, just a razor and shaving cream. Michelle heads to the hotel where the two are staying to confront him, and she gets their room number from the front desk staff. In their room, she finds that Clay has killed Katie. Michelle leaves the room and has no idea what to do next.

On one hand, she wants to call the cops because they were planning on running away together, but on the other hand, if Clay can get away with murder, then maybe he would be more willing to make it work with Michelle.
