The Lincoln Lawyer – Season 1 – Episode 8 Recap

In episode 8 of The Lincoln Lawyer, Cherry has tracked down a key witness in an important case from Mickey’s past.

Lincoln Lawyer

Mickey meets Cherry for breakfast. Cherry has learned that Glory Days, a prostitute and the key witness in the Jesus Menendez trial, is working in Las Vegas but comes back to Los Angeles at the request of some of her clients. Cherry gives Mickey the name of Raj who works at Ecco, a furniture store. Cisco visits the store and convinces Raj to ask Glory Days to come back to LA.

Meanwhile, Maggie has a week to prove that Angelo Soto got an employee, Alvin Aquino, to kill David Laresca. Lareesca was her key witness against Soto in a human trafficking case. Maggie needs the GPS data from Aquino’s cell phone to place him near the location of Laresca’s murder. Lankford gets the data, but Maggie is suspicious of the legitimacy of the traffic stop that gave Lankford time to download the information from the phone.

Mickey is in court with the Trevor Elliot murder trial.

He discredits the testimony of Lara Elliot’s friend, Sonia Patel. He questions whether testifying against Trevor is her way of getting revenge because Trevor never offered her a job with his company, Parallax.

Lab technician Loomis testifies that the gunshot residue (GSR) on Trevor’s hands and clothes was too great to be a false positive. Loomis’s supervisor, Dr. Tan, has been checking his work after a mistake in an earlier trial, so Mickey’s attempt to discredit Loomis fails

However, through the video Jerry entered into evidence, Mickey realizes that Trevor was put into the same patrol car from which Eli Wyms had fired 90 rounds of ammunition earlier. The patrol car was taken in to repair a spotlight but was not cleaned before being taken to arrest Trevor. This is the magic bullet. The GSR on Trevor came from the patrol car.
