Tyler Perry Introduces New Arm of Studio: Maxscene
- Aug 28, 2026
In a recent move to foster creative talent, filmmaking mogul Tyler Perry has established a new branch of his production company, Tyler Perry Studios. The uniquely crafted division, dubbed "Maxscene," is dedicated to broadening theatrical spaces for filmmakers with a unique perspective on storytelling.
Maxscene is named in honor of Perry's mother, Maxine, whose unwavering belief in her son inspired the name. "Everything I’ve made in my career carries my mother’s spirit, and Maxscene is a tribute to her," Perry expressed. He further stated that his mother's faith in his abilities pushed him to persistently pursue his dreams. Now, he aims to invoke the same confidence in up-and-coming storytellers through Maxscene, providing them with a platform to showcase their creativity and reach a broader audience.
Antoinetta Stallings, Head of Development & Acquisitions at Tyler Perry Studios, will manage the Maxscene division. Stallings, formerly VP of unscripted programming, has prior experience leading the studio's collaboration with Pantheon Media Group.

Stallings, sharing her enthusiasm for the venture, said, "Over the years, I've seen many talented filmmakers struggle to find a platform for films that merit an audience." She views the inception of Maxscene as a significant step, intending to offer independent filmmakers not just a platform for releasing their films, but also the resources, support, and pathway to distribution they need to build a sustainable career.
Tyler Perry Studios, founded by Perry himself, is based in Atlanta and has been the powerhouse behind numerous feature films and thousands of hours of television content.
