The heating pad is installed on the mattress, then a standard mattress pad is on top of the heating pad, then the bedsheet is over the standard mattress pad: mattress, heating pad, mattress pad, bedsheet.
It has a pre-heat function that puts an even heat across the mattress before you slip into bed. After that, I turn it off. The heat that collects between the mattress and top blankets is sufficient to keep one warm all night. Therapeutically, the heat can be very soothing for back and legs. All heating levels achieve their limits fairly quickly and the heat is even across the heated pad.
Preheat function – is very warm; L-1 is mildly warm; 2-3 is warm; 4-7 and above is noticeably very warm-bordering on too warm.
The dual controls work perfectly. If one side is on and the other side is off: one side of the pad will be warm while the other side of the pad will remain cold. No heat “bleeds” across the elements from one side to the other.”

“Look, it’s not a bespoke, high-quality keepsake. Yes, seams are splitting within but a few weeks of receiving it. But I’m going to get out my needle and thread and darn those up, because darn it if this isn’t my new favorite blanket-pretending-to-be-a-coat. It’s as cozy as I dreamed, and though it’s bulkier than I imagined, I’ve found this excess is also its virtue. Things I have done with the immense hood that engulfs one’s head if raised: sheltered my ears from Catskills chills, snapped woolly selfies, and hidden my face from someone on the train that I potentially remembered from ghosting on Tinder. Things I have done with the hood turned down as a collar: looked bougie as can be, like a fancy yeti princess (the Abominable Snowbunny, if you will). Compliments I have received on this: too many to count, from strangers and friends alike. I tend to say the price with embarrassment, as for me, $30 is a effing splurge, but everyone else seems awed by it. Yes, the cuffs are a little too tight and a little scratchy, but it keeps the cold out. Yes, it consumes my body like something out of a sci-fi film trying to possess me. But it keeps out the cold. I wish it had a little more chest coverage, but listen, I’d buy it again. Have I mentioned it’s in essence a blanket that I’ve gotten away with wearing at work? This is all you need to know.”
