NFL Standings: Playoff Preview

With the regularly scheduled games of the NFL season wrapped up, here’s where your team stands going into the playoffs.

Well, if you can believe it, we’ve already finished our regularly scheduled NFL season games and we’re onto the playoffs. It’s week 18 which marks the end of the new 17-game schedule. Here’s where your teams stand and what the playoffs are looking like. 

AFC League

Who Made It?

1. The Tennessee Titans (12-5) are champions of the AFC South. They clinched the No. 1 seed against the Texans, edging out the Chiefs. This gets them the lone along with a home-field advantage in the playoffs. 

2. Kansas City Chiefs (12-5) are champions of the AFC West. Beating out the Broncos gave them the No. 2 seed but they are defending Superbowl champs.

3. Buffalo Bills (11-6) are champions of the AFC East. They won their division at home over the Jets. 

4. Cincinnati Bengals (10-7) are champions of the AFC North.

5. Las Vegas Raiders (10-7) finished second place in the AFC West. They earned their playoff spot with the overtime game against the Chargers.

6. New England Patriots (10-7) took second place in the AFC East. They already lost the title spot when the Bills beat the Jets.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7-1) took second place in the AFC North. Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t have to say goodbye just yet.

8. Los Angeles Chargers (9-8, eliminated)

9. Indianapolis Colts (9-8, eliminated)

10. Miami Dolphins (9-8, eliminated)

11. Cleveland Browns (8-9, eliminated)

12. Baltimore Ravens (8-9, eliminated)

13. Denver Broncos (7-10, eliminated)

14. New York Jets (4-13, eliminated)

NFC League

Who Made It? 

1. Green Bay Packers (13-4) are champions in the NFC North. They repeated their win totals from the previous two seasons and clinched the No. 1 seed, the lone bye, and the home field advantage. 

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-4) are champions in the NFC South. The Rams losing to the 49ers and the Buccaneers beating the Panthers got them the No. 2 seed. 

3. Dallas Cowboys (12-5) are champions in the NFC East. The Cowboys beat the Eagles after a previous week loss to the Cardinals. And edged out the Rams with their conference-record tiebreaker.

4. Los Angeles Rams (12-5) are champions in the NFC West. But with losing the No. 2 seed, they now need to play a third game against the Cardinals.

5. Arizona Cardinals (11-6) took second place in the NFC West. The loss to the Seahawks cost them the division win. But they’ll get the wild card spot and a rematch with the Rams.

6. San Francisco 49ers (10-7) took third place in the NFC West. 

7. Philadelphia Eagles (9-8) took second place in the NFC East. After already clinching a wild card spot, they did rest some of their players last week.
