Dreamworks Animation has unveiled the full track list for the musical score of its film "Forgotten Island." Notable artists headlining the soundtrack include SB19, BINI, Lea Salonga, H.E.R., and Sophia Laforteza of Katseye. The music in the film, set to launch on September 18 while the film opens on September 25, draws considerable influence from the 80s and 90s, particularly the Filipino and Filipino-American musical scenes.

"Forgotten Island" relates the tale of Jo and Raissa, voiced by H.E.R. and Liza Soberano, two best friends embarking on their last adventure together. This journey leads them through a night teeming with shapeshifters, demons, and witches, testing their friendship as they navigate their way out of a mystical portal to return home.

The soundtrack features a diverse blend of music, highlighting a remixed version of INXS' hit "Never Tear Us Apart," sung by Sophia Laforteza. The title track of the film, "BRB," is championed by H.E.R. and Soberano. Filipino boy band SB19 offers their interpretation of the classic Francis M. song "Mga Kababayan." Ruby Ibarra and Carl Angelo lend their voices to "Salbahe Ako."

Dreamworks Animation's \

Composer Nathan Matthew David, who leaned heavily on analog synths from the '80s and '90s, scored the film. He revealed that the music evolves as the storyline unfolds on the Island of Nakali, incorporating native Filipino instruments and a Tagalog-speaking choir. Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado directed the film.

In the film, Salonga assumes the role of a feared mythical creature, incorporating the unique sounds of the Filipino gandingan, or talking gong. Her nuanced performance added depth to the character-defining sounds used throughout David's score. The soundtrack can be preordered now.
