Triumphant Tale of Paralympian Achiever Acquired by Sox Entertainment
- May 22, 2026
Sox Entertainment has announced the acquisition of the distribution rights for the critically acclaimed sports documentary “Stronger Than You Think.” The film documents the incredible journey of Ali Truwit, a paralympic swimming champion who refused to let her injuries define her, instead, turning them into a source of inspiration for millions.
Truwit made international news at the 2024 Paris Paralympics where she won two silver medals, just a year after losing her lower left leg to a shark attack while swimming in Turks and Caicos in 2023. Despite this life-altering incident, the gutsy Connecticut native and Yale graduate became a beacon of strength and resilience, thus attracting numerous sponsors and brands alike.
The documentary showcases Truwit's multi-dimensional personality and pursuits, including her non-profit organization with the same name as the documentary, aimed at motivating women and girls through her own story of courage and recovery. Besides, the film highlights Truwit’s other accomplishments, such as her partnership with brands including Nike, motivational speaking engagements with prominent companies including Amazon, Merck and Bank of America, her participation in the New York City Marathon with a prosthetic blade, features in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and a forthcoming book from St. Martin’s Press.

With the Emmy-winning pair Janice C. Molinari and Melissa Forman behind the directing wheel and Allez! Sports and Allyson J. Davis as producers, the documentary woos its audience with a saga of grit, determination, and the power of human spirit. Having already won several awards at film festivals, and scheduled for more screenings across the country, the film is also attracting a lot of interest in the market, thanks to Sox Entertainment, helmed by CBS and Paramount veteran Scott Koondel.
In Truwit’s words - "This film is for everyone fighting for their comebacks, transforming hardship into hope, and making a difference. It proves that we are all stronger than we think."
